Exploring Delicious Vegetarian Fare at WTF Restaurant in Bangsar with Simple Decor

The restaurant called WTF in Bangsar has a minimalistic interior design.

In my household, we prioritize a healthy diet with an emphasis on vegetables over meat. When I dine out, I prefer to have meals that are free of fats and MSG. One of the vegetarian restaurants that I have visited, which also avoids using preservatives and MSG, is WTF Restaurant on Lorong Maarof in Bangsar.

What The Food Restaurant

WTF is an abbreviation for "What Tasty Food" and the restaurant primarily offers Indian dishes, along with some Indo-Chinese and Western options. I began my meal with the hot and sour soup, which was a delicious version of the Szechuan soup priced at RM8.

Spicy and tangy soup

Yogurt-filled Puri

Dahi Puri is a type of snack that consists of a hollow puff bread filled with potatoes and topped with yogurt and different sauces. It was the appetizer I enjoyed the most that evening, as it offered a delicious mix of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors that complemented each other nicely.

Spicy Chinese snack

Satisfying crispy noodle snack

Not as thrilling was the Chinese Bhel priced at RM14, described as a special dish. It consisted of crunchy wheat noodles and vegetables that were both spicy and savory, with a nice contrast of sweetness from the corn and fried fritters.

Grilled Paneer Wrap

For those who like wraps, consider trying the Tandoori Paneer Wrap (RM14). It is packed with calcium and vitamins, making it a very healthy option. The Mirchi Pakora (RM7) consists of chillies filled with stuffing, coated in batter, and fried until crispy. It is then served with a combination of sweet and spicy sauces and yogurt. Delicious items to try out.

Generous serving

The Tava Masala dish at WTF Restaurant is a fan favorite, priced at RM25. It consists of tandoori potatoes, vegetable takatak, and jeera rice, all topped with a flavorful gravy and a thick potato cutlet. Despite being a vegetarian option, the dish is incredibly tasty, with the rice and gravy being standout components. The portion size is generous, so those with smaller appetites may want to consider sharing this dish.

If you're looking for a unique dish, consider trying the Burritos with Mexican Rice and Salad (priced at RM25). I tried it and found it to be very satisfying.

Dense and full of taste

I had a bru coffee with my meal and later tried the Kesar Shikanji, a saffron-infused lemonade. The Kesar Shikanji was very refreshing and cost RM9. rif's Mango Lassi, also RM9, was the thickest mango lassi I've ever had. It was a bit too sweet for me, but he liked it.

Saffron Lemonade

We enjoyed a variety of desserts including plain, saffron, dates, and cashew nut barfi (sugar free), malai sandwich, and homemade cheese with syrup. The homemade cheese was intriguing, but it is recommended to remove any extra syrup before eating it.

Different types of barfi such as plain, saffron, and dates with cashew nut (without sugar) are available, as well as malai sandwich.

I had a great experience dining at WTF Restaurant. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned; I didn't feel like I was lacking any meat in my meal. What I appreciated the most was that they prepare everything fresh and don't use a microwave for cooking.

Atmosphere: 6/10 Cost: 6.5/10 Cuisine: 7.5/10 (vegetarian options) Conclusion: The restaurant serves satisfying meals in generous portions.

I highly recommend trying the Tava Masala. I have been talking about how good it is to my friends for a while now!

I apologize, I was just curious about the meaning of the word "bhel."

If I'm correct, it is a combination of puffed rice and thin noodles that have been fried.

Bhel is a popular Indian snack that is a combination of various ingredients such as cucumber, crispy fried flour bits known as puris, sauces, and roasted puffed rice. Some variations may include crispy noodles, but traditionally, it is made with sev to give it an authentic Indian flavor.

The food looks delicious! I will definitely give it a try someday. I am a fan of Indian vegetarian cuisine. Thank you, Bangsar Babe!

No worries. I hope you enjoy the meal at WTF!

I'm heading to this vegetarian restaurant and I hope I find some delicious food there!

Today was really great and enjoyable for me after three years. I appreciate it a lot.
