Azlan Aziz was a seasoned professional in the hotel industry, but he chose to switch careers and open up a restaurant called Lontong & Such. He was a big fan of Lontong dishes and spent some time perfecting his own recipe. The gravy is rich and coconutty, yet not too heavy, which is why he serves the Lontong Power with Grilled Chicken, Sambal Sotong, Telur, and Paru. Customers are sure to be satisfied with the flavors.
However, staying true to their name, Lontong & Such offers more than just Lontong. Their menu includes Roti Jawa, Nasi Lemak, and even The English Big Breakfast.
Azlan bakes bread on a daily basis using a recipe from his mother, but he adds his own touch to make it more airy and light. One popular way to enjoy this bread is the Roti Jawa Bertelur, a unique dish made with buttered toast topped with a creamy omelette, sautéed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and baked beans. The texture of this dish is a delightful combination of crunchy, soft, and fluffy.
Next up is the traditional Big English Breakfast, which is similar to Roti Jawa but includes sausages added by Azlan. You also have the option to choose between scrambled eggs, an omelette, or sunny side up eggs. And all of this is available for just RM8! Such a great deal, right?
For those with a big appetite, you should try the Nasi Lemak Power. It’s a special recipe that is really delicious. The rice is perfectly cooked, not too heavy or too light, and when eaten with the spicy sambal, it’s really satisfying. It also comes with grilled chicken, beef lung, and spicy squid sambal. The combination of all these dishes is spot on, there’s nothing to criticize about it.
