Nasi Lemak Bumbung is a popular spot in the evening where many people gather to enjoy their signature dish of nasi lemak with crispy fried chicken. It is also a great place for observing people as it gets busy at night.
“Favorite spot for nasi lemak during late nights”
Why do people choose to eat in a hidden alley in SS2? It’s for the delicious nasi lemak and hot fried chicken at Nasi Lemak Bumbung! Inside the restaurant, you’ll see waiters rushing around with trays of nasi lemak for the hungry customers. The fried chicken is the star dish, seasoned with various spices and fried to a crispy golden perfection, complementing the subtly flavored coconut rice.
The rice is cooked perfectly, with a balanced taste and texture. It is not sticky and has a subtle coconut flavor that is simple but tasty.
The sambal sauce has a sweet flavor with a hint of spiciness. I often request extra sambal because they tend to give small portions. Each dish includes a sunny-side-up egg, and if you’re fortunate, you may get a soft yolk. I enjoy mixing the yolk into the rice along with the sambal and chicken, creating a delicious combination of flavors.
Nasi Lemak is the most popular dish at this place, but the Maggi goreng is also a good option. The noodles are firm and not too salty, making it a satisfying late-night snack. The service is fast, the food is tasty, and the prices are fair. Surprisingly, there is no roof over the dining area, as the name of the restaurant actually refers to the roof over the kitchen. If eating in an alley doesn’t bother you, come here to enjoy a meal under the open sky.
