After being contacted by Kewpie, a well-known producer of mayonnaise in Japan, to create a dish for Chinese New Year, I decided to explore this idea further by consulting my mother for more information about the dish.

According to her, my grandmother had a great fondness for Sek Yuen, a long-standing Chinese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. She particularly enjoyed their cold platter dish and even tried to make it at home herself.

What is the significance behind this event?

You will need some basic tools and a recipe card to make this Five Variety Cold Platter for Chinese New Year. The ingredients include salted jellyfish, chicken leg, prawns, lettuce, and razor clams. To make the dish, you will need to steam the chicken and prawns, shred the chicken, chop the lettuce, and boil the jellyfish.
