Planta Unveils New Formula with Omega 3 & 6, Launches Good Breakfast Programme to Educate 100,000 Children on Nutrition

Planta has unveiled a new formula with added Omega 3 & 6 and 10 essential vitamins, as part of its dedication to promoting nutrition. Through the Good Breakfast Programme, Planta aims to educate 100,000 children on the importance of balanced breakfasts and better nutrition. This beloved spread from the BlueBand family, trusted by families in over 50 countries, is now enriched with nutrients to support the growth and happiness of active kids in Malaysia.

This new and better recipe improves the flavor and smell of homemade meals and also adds more nutrients for children and families. It doesn't require complicated meal planning, making it perfect for young kids who need important nutrients for growing, as well as adults who want a healthy start to their day.

Planta from the BlueBand family has not only improved its formula but also strengthened its dedication to promoting nutrition beyond cooking with the Good Breakfast Programme. This program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education in Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan, is focused on educating school children throughout Malaysia about the significance of establishing healthy breakfast habits.

This program has trained over 150 teachers from 92 schools across the country to educate children and parents about the benefits of a nutritious breakfast for promoting growth and development. It is projected to have a positive impact on over 100,000 school children this year by providing them with the knowledge needed to develop healthier breakfast habits.

A study published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that 32% of children in Malaysia aged 6 to 12 years skip breakfast at least once a week. The International e-Journal of Science, Medicine and Education also noted that Malaysians have low levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 intake, which is not ideal. Having nutritious breakfasts is important for children as it helps improve alertness, motivation for learning, academic performance, and overall health. The National Institute of Health states that a healthy breakfast can enhance memory and attention, reducing cognitive deficits. Eating nutritious meals regularly can also lower obesity rates and increase physical activity levels, leading to a healthier lifestyle. Since children are more affected by overnight fasting, having breakfast is crucial for their problem-solving skills and overall cognitive function.

Julie Choi, the Head of Marketing for South East Asia & Far East Asia at Flora Food Group, stated that BlueBand has always focused on providing nutrition and taste to help children grow active and happy. Since starting in 1923, BlueBand has been dedicated to offering delicious and nutritious spreads to support families in their journey towards better health. With their improved formula and the Blue Band Good Breakfast Programme, they aim to assist Malaysian families in achieving a healthier lifestyle. Their work in schools across the country is aimed at teaching children better eating habits and addressing any imbalances in their diets.

Planta from the BlueBand family has an updated formula that still prioritizes providing Malaysians with high-quality spreads that combine delicious taste with nutritional benefits. Whether you're cooking traditional dishes or trying out new recipes, Planta from the BlueBand family is a versatile ingredient that adds flavor and health benefits to every meal. Keep an eye out for the improved Planta from the BlueBand family in stores across the country.
